1838 Gold Sovereign Victoria Young Head Reproduction

This 22ct replica sovereign was issued by Pobjoy Mint. It is similar to the original 1838 sovereign in so far as the obverse has the Queen Victoria Yound Head portrait but the engraving is different to the original and smaller making it easy to tell the real sovereign from this replica. The replica was issued with a mintage of 100. We currently only have one in stock and it is certificate number 77.

The certificate says that it was made to the original specifications of the 1838 sovereign with a weight of 8 grammes. In actual fact, it is heavier than the original at 8.28 grammes. See photos for actual item for sale.

We have classified this item as a replica, not a sovereign or coin and therefore it is not exempt from capital gains tax or VAT as normal sovereigns would be.

Replica Coins

The replica is hallmarked on the milled edge.

It comes with a certificate, encapsuled in a box branded 'Imperial Coins London.'

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
