This is an 1867 Half Sovereign. It was issued during the reign of Queen Victoria. The coin features the young head portrait of Victoria on the obverse and the shield reverse.

In 1867 there were no full sovereigns minted, only half sovereigns were made this year by the Royal Mint. In 1867 they did mint Australia 1867 Sovereigns but none with Shield designed by Jean Baptiste Merlen
The Obverse of the coin features William Wyon's portrait of a youthful Queen Victoria. This portrait was used on sovereigns from the beginning of her reign till 1887 when the Jubilee portrait replaced it.
