These 1999 Year of the Rabbit Perth Mint Lunar 1 oz Gold Bullion Coins are part of the Perth Mint Lunar Series I that began in 1996 and ended in 2007.

The Perth Mint declared that the mintage was 18,261 with a maximum mintage of 30,000 making these coins sought after by many bullion collectors due to the rarity. The 1999 Year of the Rabbit ran from 16th February 1999 to 4th February 2000.
The obverse features the 4th portrait of Queen Elizabeth II facing to the right wearing the Girls of Great Britain and Ireland Tiara. Also, the coin bears an inscription that reads as:
ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA
The initials (IRB) of Ian Rank-Broadley appear under her majesty’s neck and the face value of the coin appears at the bottom of the obverse (100 Dollars).
The reverse shows a rabbit in grass, with a Chinese symbol to the right that translates to rabbit. Additionally, the coin features the following lettering:
