2002 9 Euro Coin Set Spain

This Spainish 2002 Euro 9 Coin Proof Set comprises of a unique 12 Euro silver proof along with the bimetallic 2, 1 Euro, the 'Nordic gold' 50, 20 and 10 Cent coins and the copper 5, 2, 1 Cent coins.

The set includes a certificate of authenticity from the Fabrica Nacional De Moneda Y Timbre (National Coinage and Stamp Factory – Royal Mint), which is the offical name of the Royal Mint of Spain.

The 9 Euro set comes presented in a black leather box, embossed with the spanish mints logo, a capital 'M' in gold lettering.

All the coins in the set are proof condition. The special 12 Euro silver coin weights 18 grams and is made of .925 silver.

Addressed from the presidente dtor. general, the certificate of authenticity states:

The real Casa de la Moneda – Fabrica Nacional de Moneda y Timbre certifies that in order to obtain a proof quality of the highest order, this set of euro coins has been minted on multi-strike hand-operated machines using specially treated blanks and dies.

This set of proof Euro coins includes a 12-Euro coin minted in 2002 to commemorate the Spain Presidency of the European Community

The maximum mintage of the 9 euro coin proof was set at 35,000 sets however it appears that only 23,000 of each coin were actually minted.

Obverse

The obverse of each coin in the set details the specific denomination of each coin in keeping with the tradional euro coins.

Reverse

The reverse design of the 2 and 1 Euro coins show a portrait of King Juan Carlos 1 de Borbon, King of Spain.

The 50, 20 and 10 cents all have a portrait depicting Miguel de Cervantes, who is considered the farther of Spanish literature.

Reverse designs of the 5,2 and 1 cent coins reveal the cathedral of Santigo de Compostela, a famous pilgrimage destination and a jewel of Spanish Roman art.

The unique silver proof 12 euro coin features Juan Carlos and Rey Espana, celebrating the Spain presidency of the European Community.

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
