This Royal Mint gold sovereign is struck to a proof finish from 22 carat (0.9167 fine) gold. Each of these stunning coins comes in a presentation box, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

The coin features a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley on the obverse, and Benedetto Pistrucci's design of St George and the Dragon on the reverse.

Obverse

The obverse bears the fourth definitive UK coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley together with the legend ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRA REGINA·FID·DEF.

Reverse

The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci's iconic depiction of St George and the Dragon. This design has been used on the modern sovereign, with few exceptions, since 1817.

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
