Silver Koalas

The Koala was introduced in 2007 and instantly became a favourite with both coin collectors and investors. The Perth Mint in Australia are famous for producing high quality bullion products.

The one kilo coins are produced on a mint-to-order basis, meaning there is no limit on the amount produced. The Perth Mint will declare the mintage figure at the end of the year.

Obverse

Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the coin's obverse. This has appeared on all Koala coins to date. The obverse bears the inscription:

ELIZABETH II AUSTRALIA · 30 DOLLARS ·

Reverse

The design on the coins changes each year. Designed by Tom Vaughan, the 2017 coin features a koala sat at the base of a eucalyptus tree. The reverse bears the engraver's initials TV, the Perth Mint mint mark and the inscription:

These may have minor scratches or edge knocks, but this does not affect their value. Any coin sold for a value less than a 180% intrinsic is considered a bullion coin.
VAT:
Investment gold products are VAT-free, while silver products include VAT.
Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
