1904 Gold Sovereign Edward VII Sydney

1904 Edward VII sovereign struck in 22 carat gold. This British coin was produced by the Sydney mint in Australia and features Benedetto Pistrucci's famous St George and the Dragon design.

In 1904, The Royal Mint in London, and the Australian branch mints in Melbourne, Perth and Sydney, all issued sovereigns. This sovereign was minted in Sydney where 2,986,000 were produced for circulation with a face value of one pound.

Obverse

George William De Saulles created the right facing effigy of Edward VII. The engraver's initials De S. are positioned below the truncated neck and the inscription reads EDWARDVS VII: D: G: BRITT: OMN: REX: F: D: IND: IMP:

Reverse

The reverse bears the famous design of St George and the Dragon by Italian engraver, Benedetto Pistrucci. The Sydney mint mark, S, is shown in the ground underneath the dragon. The year, 1904, is shown in exergue with the engraver's initials B.P. placed to the right.

Cancellations & Returns:
Once you place an order, you cannot cancel it. We do not currently accept returns, however. You may be able to sell your investment products back to Chards at the current buy back rate.
