The Royal Yacht Britannia
Synopsis
The Royal Yacht Britannia has appeared on coins including a Guernsey 'Royal Visit' crown of 1989...
There have been a number of Royal Yachts named Britannia. The last one featured on a 1977 Tristan da Cunha 25 pence coin on its Silver Jubilee visit to the island, also on a Guernsey Crown produced to commemorate a Royal Visit to the island in 1989. We also show the ship itself.

The labour government elected in 1997 decided to scrap the Royal Yacht Britannia, and not to replace it unfortunately.
