This 1891 Victoria sovereign was struck at the Sydney mint in Australia. The obverse shows the Jubilee Head portrait of Queen Victoria with St George and Dragon on the reverse.

In 1891, The Royal Mint in London, and the Australian branch mints in Melbourne and Sydney, all issued sovereigns. This sovereign is struck in 22 carat gold and was issued at the Sydney mint.
A total of 11,675,068 were minted in 1891, 2,596,000 of which were struck in Sydney.
The obverse of the coin is the second of the three portraits that were used on the sovereign; the Jubilee Head. This portrait was designed by Joseph Edgar Boehm, and was introduced in 1887 to mark Queen Victoria's Golden Jubilee. His initials J.E.B. are straight on truncation. The coin features the legend VICTORIA D:G: BRITT:REG:F:D:, the D:G: are positioned closer to the crown on this coin.
The reverse features the iconic St George and the Dragon design by the engraver Benedetto Pistrucci. His initials B.P. are set to the right of the date in exergue. The S mint mark in the ground below the dragon shows that the sovereign was struck in Sydney, Australia.
