What is the Coat of Arms of the Dominion of Malta

This particular coin showcases the Coat of Arms of the Dominion of Malta, which predates the emblem adopted between 1975 and 1988. In 1975, coins were released bearing both the older and newer coats of arms.

Who is the Roman God Neptune?

Neptune, the deity of sea and water in Roman mythology, brandishes a trident, representing his dominion over oceans and seismic forces. Frequently portrayed riding a chariot drawn by marine creatures, he embodies the serene and capricious nature of the seas.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features the Coat of Arms of the Dominion of Malta with the following legend that reads as:

MALTA

Reverse

The reverse side of this coin displays a depiction of the Roman god of the sea standing upright, holding his trident. This design separates the issue date and face value of the coin.
