This 1973 Isle of Man 4-Coin sovereign set was issued by The Pobjoy Mint on behalf of The Isle of Man. There were no British sovereigns issued in 1973, making this set particularly appealing to collectors.
The sovereign set contains a quintuple sovereign, double sovereign, sovereign and half sovereign coin, all struck to an uncirculated finish.

Obverse
The obverse was designed by Arnold Machin, and shows the second coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. The text reads:

Reverse
The reverse shows a Norse warrior on horseback. The design is similar in appearance to the St George and Dragon reverse found on British sovereigns. The design is credited to The Pobjoy Mint Designers.
