1/2 oz Platinum Koala Coin from The Perth Mint.
The Australian Koala series began in 1988 with the 1 oz platinum coin. Since then it has become one of Australia's most collectable coins.
This half ounce koala coin has a face value of 50 Australian dollars and is struck in .9995 fine platinum.
The first platinum koala was issued in 1988 and periodically minted in 2oz, 1/2oz, and 1/4oz denominations. The series was discontinued in 2000.
The obverse features HM Queen Elizabeth II and was designed by Raphael Maklouf.
