Mexico, like a number of other countries, issues a one ounce silver bullion coin called The Libertad. They were first issued in 1982.
These Libertads are all struck in 0.999 fineness and contain exactly one troy ounce of silver. We will supply our choice of year, which means we are able to offer very competitive premiums.
Mexico issued its first 1 ounce silver bullion coin in 1949, about 30 to 40 years before most other countries started issuing them. Granted there was then a long gap until they were issued again in 1978, but it does mean Mexico were first.
There have been a number of different designs during this period. The Libertad was also issued in a two ounce coin too.
Minty coins are our hand-picked selection of bullion coins that are in mint condition and usually, but not always, have been minted in recent years. They may have slight production marks, which is the case for the latest bullion coins too. Any coins with more severe scratches and scuff marks would be classed as secondary market. Please note that 'minty' is not a traditional grade.
The obverse design will vary depending on the coin issued. All coins feature a depiction of the Monumento a la Independencia statue in downtown Mexico City.
The reverse shows the coat of arms of Mexico. The specific design will vary depending on the coin issued.
