2007 was the diamond (60th) wedding anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh. This crown was released to celebrate the event.
On 20 November 1947, the marriage of Elizabeth and Philip Mountbatten was broadcast to over 200 million radio listeners. The princess wore a wedding dress designed by Norman Hartnell which had been made from material obtained using post war ration coupons.
King George VI died on the 6 February 1952. Elizabeth acceded to the throne and became Queen Elizabeth II, her consort became Prince Philip in 1957. Elizabeth and Philip will celebrate their platinum anniversary on 20 November 2017.
