This 2008 Gold Proof Sovereign NGC PF-69 Ultra Cameo Coin was issued by the Royal Mint.
Struck from 22 carat gold (0.9167 fineness) this proof coin has been graded by the Numismatic Guaranty Company (NGC) and has attained the grade of PF 69. It's worth noting the coin is Ultra Cameo, meaning there's a high contrast between the matte and mirror finish on the design.
The 2008 gold sovereign features the iconic St George and the Dragon reverse design, by Benedetto Pistrucci. The obverse bears the Ian Rank-Broadley portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.

2008 Proof Sovereign Mintage
There were 7,735 gold proof sovereigns issued in 2008. This includes the coins that were used in sets.
The coin comes in a presentation box, with a numbered certificate of authenticity.
Obverse
Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of Queen Elizabeth II features on the coin's obverse. This is the fourth portrait of Elizabeth to appear on sovereigns, and was used from 1998 until 2015. The engraver's initials IRB are under the truncated neck. The obverse bears the legend:
ELIZABETH·II·DEI·GRA REGINA·FID·DEF.
Reverse
The reverse features Benedetto Pistrucci depiction of St. George slaying the dragon. The year '2008' appears at the bottom.
