Two £2 designs were issued to mark the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. This bi-metallic £2 coin features the iconic roundel design. This coin is a collector's piece that is issued in a presentation box with a certificate.
In 2013, The Royal Mint issued a two coin set of two pound coins to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the London Underground. One of the coins features the Roundel logo of the London Underground system and the other coin features a train emerging from a tunnel. The Tube, as the London Underground is fondly referred, handles over 5 million journeys a day. It is the largest and oldest underground railway network in the world.
Struck in sterling silver, this commemorative coin is British legal tender and is exempt from Capital Gains Tax.
The obverse features Ian Rank-Broadley's fourth coin portrait of Elizabeth II. The coin bears the inscription:

Designed by Edwina Ellis, the reverse bears a simple engraving of the London Underground's logo, the roundel, against a fine linear background.
