This set contains the eight circulating coins, from £2 down to 1p, plus the commemorative £5, £2's, £1's and the 50 pence. They come packaged in a newly designed plastic case, and housed within an attractive box. The set comes with a certificate and information booklet about the coins. This set replaces the standard and deluxe set.
This 2013 set contains seven commemorative coins together with the circulation coins for the year.
The definitive circulation coins of 2013, from the one penny to the fifty pence, feature the shield of the Royal Arms 'jigsaw puzzle' by Matthew Dent. The circulation coins also include the £2 Technology Four Ages of Man design and the £1 shield.
The commemorative coins include the five pound crown celebrating the 60th Anniversary of Elizabeth II's Coronation and the three £2 coins; the 350th Anniversary of the Guinea and the two coins commemorating the 150th Anniversary of the London Underground. The two £1 coins feature the national floral emblems of England and Wales and the fifty pence celebrating the 100th Anniversary of the Birth of Christopher Ironside.
Produced in the same metals as the circulating coins, the coins are struck to a proof finish which enhances the design and makes them a popular choice with coin collectors.
The obverse of each coin bears the fourth definitive UK coin portrait of Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley.
