Introducing the New 12 Sided One Pound Coin
The obverse of both coins shows the Jody Clark fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
The farewell one pound coin features the beasts of the four nations. It was designed by the amateur artist and coin collector, Gregory Cameron, and represents the equality and dignity of the country.
The reverse of the 12-sided coin was designed by David Pearce. It shows the floral symbols from the four nations of the United Kingdom; the rose for England, the leek for Wales, the thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Northern Ireland.
