Celebrate the first major change to the specification of the £1 coin, since it replaced the £1 note in 1983, with this 2017 Nations of the Crown silver proof edition of the 12-sided £1 coin.
This coin is struck in proof condition and comes in a presentation box with a certificate of authenticity.
The round version will cease to be legal tender on the 15th October 2017.
The 2017 silver proof £1 coins have a limited edition mintage figure (meaning the amount issued in individual presentation boxes) of 25,000, with an overall mintage figure of 26,000. The overall mintage figure includes those issued in sets.
On 28 March 2017, the circulated round pound was replaced by the 12 sided £1 coin. On the 15 October the round £1 coin will cease to be legal tender.
The obverse design is the fifth coinage portrait of Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. The inscription reads:
2017 · ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D.
It has a laser-micro inscribed £ symbol on a fine lined background inside a small shield which has a hologram effect - when tilted it reveals a 1 symbol.
The general public was given the opportunity to design the reverse of the coin. The winner was 15 year old schoolboy, David Pearce, whose entry was the Nations of the Crown. This features a floral design, representing each os the four nations of the United Kingdom. The rose for England, the leek for Wales, the thistle for Scotland and a shamrock for Northern Ireland.

Gold investment products are VAT free. Silver investment products are inclusive of VAT at the current rate unless otherwise stated.
All investment products are based on the live precious metal price. Prices will be fixed once the item has been added to the basket and recalculates just before checking out.
If your product is not a graded coin and is considered a bullion item, it should be noted that these are bought and sold on low premiums over their precious metal content and not solely for aesthetic purposes; therefore, some products may have edge knocks and/or marks. These edge knocks and marks do not alter the specifications of the coins.
