This quintuple sovereign is struck in brilliant uncirculated condition and features a remastered version of the original St George and the Dragon garter design by Benedetto Pistrucci. This engraving appeared on the reverse of the 1817 George III sovereign.

Quintuple Gold Sovereigns

A five-sovereign piece may also be referred to as a quintuple sovereign, a crown or a £5 coin.

The 22 carat gold is struck in a brilliant uncirculated finish and is issued to a limited mintage of 1,000. The obverse is struck in a 'proof-like brilliant uncirculated finish'.

This commemorative gold crown comes in a presentation box and is issued with a certificate of authenticity.

Obverse

The obverse features the fifth definitive UK coin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, his initials JC are below the truncation. This 2017 200th Anniversary design is the first time since 1887 that the date has been featured on the obverse of the coin. The obverse legend reads:

Reverse

A remastered version of the iconic 1817 St George and the Dragon engraving is featured on the reverse of the coin. The design, by Italian engraver, Benedetto Pistrucci, features the garter border, which has not appeared on sovereigns since 1820.

Honi Soit Qui Mal Y Pense

The garter inscription on the St. George and the Dragon reverse reads "Honi soit qui mal y pense", which is French for "Shame be to him who thinks evil of it". This is the motto of the Order of the Garter, the highest order of chivalry in the UK.

The Star rating should be 5 stars

The Star rating is not just 4 stars but it should have been 5 stars that will not light up, I have spent a lot of time looking on the internet at gold prices most 1oz is mainly at current gold values. However sovereigns have different pricing up to a third more, yet I found Chards prices are very fair prices which I have bought 3 sovereigns this year.
