The Year of the Rooster officially starts on 28th January, 2017. It is the Chinese year 4715. Those born during the Year of the Rooster are said to be hardworking, observant, confident and honest.

The Australian lunar coins were released on 8th September, 2016, we received our coins on 20th September.
The fourth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of the coin. This is the same portrait as used on the previous coins in the series.
The reverse displays a standing rooster amongst some bamboo and leaves. It was designed by Aleysha Howarth.
