This is the 2018 Perth Mint Year of the Dog half ounce gold coin.
These coins are produced on a mint-to-order basis, meaning the Perth Mint will produce the coins throughout the year. Once they begin 2019 production, they will release the mintage figures of the 2018 coins.
Each year the Perth Mint's Lunar Series bullion coins are eagerly anticipated by collectors and investors looking for high quality bullion at low premiums above spot. You won't be disappointed in the new 2018 designs.
The fourth coinage effigy of Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse of the coin. This was designed by Ian Rank-Broadley.
The gold coin shows a Labrador Retriever standing next to a pine tree. Again, the Chinese character for ‘dog’ and the text ‘Year of the Dog’ are displayed on the coin. The Perth Mint ‘P’ mintmark can be found on the left side of the coin.
