1. The Victoria Cross - The Victoria Cross is the highest decoration awarded by the British Honours System. It is awarded for valour 'in the presence of the enemy'. The medal was first awarded during the Crimean War and has been awarded ever since.
2. The Battle of Britain - The Battle of Britain is regarded as one of the most successful military campaigns conducted during the Second World War. It started on the 10th of July 1940 and lasted just over 3 months to the 31st of October 1940. The victory at the Battle of Britain allowed Britain and its allies air superiority over Britain and surrounding areas.
3. D-Day - Operation Neptune (commonly known as D-day) were the airbourne and landing operations conducted on the 6th of June 1944 into Northern France, which formed part of Operation Overlord.
4. Victoria Cross - Heroic Acts - This coin depicts the act of a fellow soldier carrying a wounded soldier to safety. This extraordinary act of bravery would have received the highest gallantry award available, the Victoria Cross (Coin 1).
5. The Battle of Hastings - The famous battle in 1066 against the English and Norman-French between Harold Godwinson and William, the Duke of Normandy (Known more commonly as King William I). The battle would see William the victor and crowned King of England, with Harold being killed at battle with an arrow to the eye.
