These 2023 Gold Maple Leaf 1 oz Bullion Coins are issued by the Royal Canadian Mint. The gold Maple is a popular choice for investors looking to buy gold bullion at low premiums.
These gold bullion coins have a special micro laser-engraved, textured maple leaf on the bottom right-hand side of the reverse of the coin.
This coin is issued loose. You can purchase a 31mm capsule to protect your coin.
The maple bullion coins, minted by the Royal Canadian Mint, feature the national plant emblem of Canada and are among the most recognisable bullion coins worldwide. The coins are struck from 24 carat gold (999.9 fineness).
Gold maples are issued every year, with sizes usually ranging from 1 oz to 1/20 oz.
The obverse bears the Canadian portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II by Susanna Blunt. This memorial design features the years of her reign, 1952 - 2022, with four pearls, symbolising the four effigies that have graced Canadian coins.
The inscription reads:
ELIZABETH II 50 DOLLARS 2023
The reverse features an engraving of Canada's national emblem, the maple leaf. A smaller maple appears in the bottom-right field and consists of the leaf with the date, together with the inscription:
CANADA 9999 FINE GOLD 1OZ OR PUR 9999
