This 2023 Annual UK Silver Proof coin set contains 5 commemorative coins and no definitive coin issues.

Each coin in the set has been finished to a Silver Proof standard and is struck in 0.925 sterling silver.

The five coins in this set are; The 75th Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III, Celebrating the Life and Work of JRR Tolkien, Celebrating the Centenary of Flying Scotsman, 75 Years of the National Health Service and 75 Years of the Windrush Generation.

The 75th Birthday of His Majesty King Charles III

King Charles III will celebrate his 75th birthday on 14 November 2023. The design that is featured on the reverse is a heraldic design by Royal Mint designer, Dan Thorne and was approved by His Majesty.

Celebrating the Life and Work of JRR Tolkien

This coin celebrates JRR Tolkien's life and his progressive work in the modern fantasy fiction. JRR Tolkien is perhaps best known for his fantasy novels 'The hobbit' (1937) and the popular 'The Lord of the Rings' (1954-55).

Celebrating the Centenary of Flying Scotsman

This coin celebrates the centenary of the oldest working locomotive, the 'Flying Scotsman'. Designed by the veteran coin artist John Bergdahl.

75 Years of the National Health Service

The National Health Service (NHS) first opened its doors on 5 July 1948, and continues to provide vital health care to millions of people throughout the United Kingdom. This coin was designed by The Royal Mint designer Alice Lediard to celebrate the brilliant staff and organisation.

75 Years of the Windrush Generation

This coin was designed by Valda Jackson and celebrates the 75th anniversary of the symbolic ship that played a huge turning point in the shaping of the United Kingdom since WWII.

The Star rating should be 5 stars

The Star rating is not just 4 stars but it should have been 5 stars that will not light up, I have spent a lot of time looking on the internet at gold prices most 1oz is mainly at current gold values. However sovereigns have different pricing up to a third more, yet I found Chards prices are very fair prices which I have bought 3 sovereigns this year.
