Security Features of the 2024 Britannia Coin Range

These coins also incorporate the cutting-edge security features, first introduced in 2021. One such feature is the small latent image on the bottom-left of the coin, which acts as a hologram, seamlessly transitioning between a trident and a padlock depending on the angle at which the coin is held. Additionally, a micro-text border encircling Britannia bears the inscription "DECUS ET TUTAMEN", translating to “an ornament and a safeguard”.

Moreover, the field of the coin now boasts surface animation, with micro-waves creating lines in the background, and tincture lines added to showcase the intricate play of colours and patterns on the metal.

Gold Britannias

Gold bullion Britannia coins are the UK's most popular CGT exempt 1oz gold coin. Britannias were introduced by The Royal Mint in 1987. These British gold bullion coins have a face value of £100. Between 1987 - 2012, the coins were struck in 22 carat gold (0.9167 fineness); from 2013 onwards, the coins have been struck in 24 carat gold (0.9999 fineness). The coins all contain one troy ounce of gold, whether they are struck in 22 carat gold or 24 carat gold.

The obverse of the coin is graced by the uncrowned portrait of King Charles III.

Reverse

The 2024 Britannia coin collection boasts an iconic design, featuring the classic 'standing Britannia' motif by renowned artist Philip Nathan.

The Star rating should be 5 stars

The Star rating is not just 4 stars but it should have been 5 stars that will not light up, I have spent a lot of time looking on the internet at gold prices most 1oz is mainly at current gold values. However sovereigns have different pricing up to a third more, yet I found Chards prices are very fair prices which I have bought 3 sovereigns this year.
