The Lakshmi 20g Gold Bullion Minted Bar is the first investment bar manufactured by The Royal Mint in the UK to celebrate Diwali, the Hindu festival of lights and India's biggest holiday of the year.
This gold bar showcases a stunning design featuring the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and good fortune. We believe this design is fitting for this well-crafted bar, making it a perfect gift to celebrate Diwali.

Diwali is celebrated over five days, during which Hindu and other non-Hindu communities, such as Buddhists, come together to commemorate the victory of light over darkness, good over evil, and knowledge over ignorance. This celebration unfolds over the course of five days.
On the first day of the Diwali festival, people clean their homes and shop for gold, aiming to bring good fortune, much like this gold bar. On the second day, communities decorate their homes.
On the third day, families gather for Lakshmi puja, a prayer dedicated to Goddess Lakshmi, followed by the enjoyment of a bountiful feast and fireworks.
The fourth day marks the occasion when friends and relatives visit with gifts to celebrate the start of the new year. Finally, on the fifth day, brothers visit their married sisters to celebrate love and share a meal together.
The depiction of Goddess Lakshmi on these bars was crafted by Royal Mint designer Emma Noble, in collaboration with the Shree Swaminarayan Temple in Cardiff. This collaboration aimed to ensure the accuracy and cultural authenticity of the design.
The obverse side showcases the Hindu goddess Lakshmi, portrayed as she pours gold into a bowl, which is then raised upward by one of the two elephants featured, using its trunk. In Hindu and Buddhist traditions, elephants symbolize various qualities, including good luck, wisdom, power, and loyalty.
Additionally, Lakshmi is depicted holding her favourite flower, two lotus flowers, and standing on an open lotus.
The reverse of the bar boasts the Royal Mint logo. Beneath the emblem, the bar displays the weight, fineness, and a unique serial number.
