The London Bullion Market Association (LBMA), demands strict standards of purity, quality and appearance for bullion bars. An LBMA accreditation is highly valued. The removal off the Good Delivery List of approved refiners can have serious implications for any substandard producer.
Bars or Coins?
Our advice usually follows that for a pure investment purchase you should compare premiums and go for the lowest possible. These are often, but not always, on coins rather than bars.

The obverse side of the bar displays the Credit Suisse logo, followed by information about the metal, weight, purity, and an 'essayeur fondeur' mark at the bottom of the bar.
