Only in 1823, 1887, 1893, and 1902 were ordinary circulation types issued in addition to proof versions.
The 1823 two pound piece is the only gold two pounds with George IV on the obverse.

The designer and engraver of the obverse of this £2 was Jean Baptiste Merlen, whose initials J.B.M. appear under the truncation of the neck of George the IV.
W.W.P. on the ground for Mint Master William Wellesley Pole, date in exergue. The initials B.P. lie below the ground on the right.
The reverse is the very familiar St George and dragon design by Benedetto Pistrucci.
