Winston Churchill Gold Medallions

Sir Winston Leonard Spencer-Churchill, KG, OM, CH, TD, FRS, PC (Can)

A trio of 22 carat gold Churchill medallion. Each gold medallion features a portrait of Sir Winston Spencer Churchill by Gregory & Co Jewellers Ltd,. They were issued to mark the centenary of Churchill's birth 1874 - 1974.

The two larger sizes were also produced in silver.

A whole rash of commemorative medallions were issued after the death of the great man in 1965, and a further few on the centenary of his birth in 1974. These medallions vary greatly in size and quality. Some are very impressive, being struck in a large size, and with high relief giving great detail.

Edge

The edge is plain, apart from the hallmark showing it to be 22 carat gold, with the sponsor's mark G & Co Ltd, from the London Assay Office.
