Gold Britannias

These 1 oz Gold Britannias are uncirculated coins which are sold at a low margin over the intrinsic metal value.

Gold Britannias are the United Kingdom's most popular bullion coin. These one ounce pound sterling coins are struck in 999.9 fineness (24 carat gold), are British legal tender and exempt from Capital Gains Tax. These gold Britannias offer investors the opportunity to buy large amounts of gold bullion at low premiums. Investment gold is VAT Free.

The Queen Elizabeth II coins will have a short production run, with a second bullion Britannia design being issued in the new year. The new coin will feature the King Charles III effigy, by Martin Jennings.

Britannia Monster Box

The Britannia gold monster box houses one hundred troy ounces of gold. Within the box are 10 tubes, with each tube containing 10 gold Britannia coins. The monster box is useful for storing and protecting your coins.

Obverse

The obverse bears the Jody Clark portrait of the late Queen Elizabeth II. This is the final time the portrait will appear on the Britannia coins, as it will eventually be replaced by the new King Charles III effigy by Martin Jennings.

The text on the coin reads:

Reverse

The 2023 Britannias feature the classic 'standing Britannia' design by Philip Nathan.

The coins also contain the high-tech Britannia security features, introduced in 2021. These include a small latent image on the bottom-left. Acting as a hologram, it changes between a trident and a padlock, depending on the angle the coin is held.

A small micro-text border can be seen around Britannia. It says "DECUS ET TUTAMEN", which translates to “an ornament and a safeguard".

The field now features surface animation - micro-waves which create lines, showing a pattern in the background. Tincture lines have also been added to show colours and patterns on the metal.
