The reverse of the 10 oz, 2 oz, and 1 oz gold coins features a micro-engraved letter (P) that is only detectable with visual aids such as a magnifying glass.
On the gold dragon design, a micro-engraved 'P' letter can be observed on the dragon's ear. This measure is implemented to deter counterfeit coins from being falsely presented as authentic collectible proof coins.
In China, they will celebrate the Chinese Year of 4722 when the Year of the Dragon begins. Individuals born between the following dates are considered to be dragons in the Chinese lunar year calendar and are associated with the wood element.

The Years of the Dragon include: 1928, 1940, 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012, 2024 and every 12 years later.
Dragons are said to be natural leaders who guide others with their charisma and are believed to achieve success because of their unwavering spirits. It is noted that the lucky numbers for a dragon are 6 and 8, while their unlucky numbers are 4 and 9.
Here is a short list of famous celebrities, both past and present, who were born during the Chinese lunar calendar year of the dragon.
The obverse bears the Jody Clark memorial portrait with the dates of her reign '1952-2022' which was first seen on the 2023 Australian kangaroo bullion coins.
An inscription goes around the portrait and reads as the following:
· ELIZABETH II 1952-2022 · AUSTRALIA · 10oz 9999 Au 1000 DOLLARS ·
The coin's reverse features a powerful dragon depicted alongside waves and swirling fog. Additionally, you'll find the Chinese character '龍,' which translates to 'dragon,' along with the inscription 'DRAGON 2024.'
A special mintmark, 'P125,' commemorating the 125th anniversary of the Australian Perth Mint, is also placed behind the dragon.
