These 2002 1 oz Gold Panda Bullion Coin are manufactured at the Central China Mint with a face value of 500 Yuan.
Panda bullion coins are highly sought after by many investors and collectors because each new panda coin features a new reverse design.
Each coin is 0.999 fine gold and contains 1 troy ounce of the precious metal.

China issued its first gold panda bullion coin in 1982. The panda changes every year on the reverse, which makes gold panda bullion coins popular worldwide due to being very collectible. Panda's are produced in several sizes, from 1oz to 1/20th oz! In some years even larger sized coins have been issued but with very low mintages.
The obverse was designed by the China Gold Coin Incorporation (CGCI) and shows the Temple of Heaven. Located in Peking, the site of worship is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The Chinese inscription for "People's Republic of China" appears above the coin, with the date "2007" underneath.
The reverse features a panda surrounded by bamboo shoots. This is the only year that used a repeated reverse design, the 2001 500 Yuan panda coin. The main way to distinguish the two coins is to look at the reeding around the edge of the coin. The 2001 panda reeding is vertical, and the 2002 reeding is horizontal.
