The Tale of Benjamin Bunny

The Tale of Benjamin Bunny was published in 1904, and is the sequel to Beatrix Potter's most famous book, The Tale of Peter Rabbit. The book tells the story of Peter Rabbit, and his cousin, Benjamin, trying to retrieve Peter's clothes from Mr McGregor's garden.

Peter Rabbit Coins

After the success of the 2016 Beatrix Potter Fifty Pence Series, The Royal Mint produced a further four coins in 2017.

Beatrix Potter

To celebrate the 150th Anniversary of the Birth of Beatrix Potter in 2016, The Royal Mint released a series of fifty pence coins. The 2016 Peter Rabbit fifty pence was highly sought after by coin collectors and demand was high for the coin in all finishes; the coloured silver proof, the brilliant uncirculated and the circulation fifty pence, with collectors paying vast amounts to add the coins to their collections.

Obverse

The obverse of the coin features the fifth coinage portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. It was designed by Royal Mint artist, Jody Clark.

Reverse

The coloured design on the reverse of the coin shows Benjamin Bunny dressed in a brown jacket. It was designed by Royal Mint artist, Emma Noble. The text reads:

BENJAMIN BUNNY
