Identification

Synopsis

We are required by HMRC and UK law to enforce a 'know your customer' policy where we ask you to prove your identity using standard form of ID.

Identification During Account Registration

  • There are transaction limits (buying and selling) applied at 48 hours and 12 months. It is our discretion to link accounts where transaction values become a cumulative sum. Examples here include family, friends or work colleagues.
  • It is our discretion to ask for ID on any international order of any value
  • We reserve the right to ask for identification on any order value in line with our regulatory compliance with HMRC.

KYC Automated Verification

We offer an automated system where customers can upload their identification so we can establish proof of name and address. This automated system only works with the following 3 combinations of ID:

  1. Passport and photocard drivers license
  2. Photocard drivers license and utility bill
  3. Photocard drivers license and bank statement

There is a possibility that the system fails to automatically verify you and we advise this is nothing to worry about. Most often it is a failure of the technology or programming and a member of staff will contact you or manually push through the checks.

Where customers have another combination of ID as shown below you can get in touch with the team at [email protected] and we can assist you in setting up an account.

This secure system is the quickest and most secure way to verify your identifity with us. All data is encrypted, stored within the EU and held only as long as we are required under UK law. It would be great not to have to subject all law abiding and honest citizens to this process however we cannot be selective in the current regulatory environment. We appreciate your understanding and patience in this process.

We recommend customers verify their account tier prior to making a transaction to make the process as smooth as possible. You can still checkout at the time of your choosing however you will be asked to go through our KYC process prior to us accepting your order.
