What Makes ‘Our Choice’ Bullion a Popular Pick for Investors?

Synopsis

Many of our customers often ask, 'what is our choice?' How is it decided when investing in our choice bullion bars or coins? To provide clarity, we've written this brief article explaining what our choice means and what you can expect when purchasing these products.

Whether you're adding to a collection or making an investment, this guide will help you understand the process and why our choice products offer great value and variety.

What Does Our Choice Bullion Mean?

To start, it's important to define what our choice means in the context of coins and bars! When a customer selects an our choice product, our system will automatically choose bullion items from the stock we have the most of at the time of your order. This lets us sell these coins at lower prices, which can sometimes make them the best value for what you're buying.

Additionally, some of our our choice products may feature a variety of designs and dates. However, it's important to note that this is subject to availability, meaning you may receive the same design or date even if you order multiple coin and bars. We encourage customers to understand this to avoid any disappointment.

What to Expect When Investing In Our Choice Bullion?

When you choose to invest in our choice bullion products, you will receive a coin or bar from a reputable refiner or mint such as The Royal Mint, The South African Mint, or Metalor Technologies, to name just a few. You can select from our range of 'Best-Value Our Choice' gold and silver products, including gold coins, gold bars, silver coins, and silver bars.

Our choice coins are available in three conditions:

  • New (recently arrived from the mint or refinery)
  • Pre-owned (secondary market)
  • Minty (close to mint condition and issued in recent years).

This approach allows us to offer competitive pricing, ensuring that customers receive excellent value while streamlining our stock management.

It's important to note that the product images may not reflect all available coin and bar designs, as our stock changes over time based on what we acquire from customer buy-ins. Therefore, the images are intended only as examples to give you an idea of the type product you may receive.

If you're looking to take advantage of Capital Gains Tax (CGT) exemption, you may be interested in our popular our choice products from The Royal Mint, available at low premiums. These coins are an excellent starting point for investors looking to diversify their portfolios with gold and silver bullion.

Two of the UK's most iconic bullion series, Britannias and Sovereigns, are offered in a range of conditions under this our choice category. If the coins are out of stock, you can still request a stock alert on the product pages to be among the first to know when they are back in stock.

You could simply choose Britannia or sovereign coins, but why not consider our choice CGT exempt 1 oz silver or CGT exempt 1 oz gold coins? These options often come with lower premiums compared to newly released coins, such as 2025 Britannia coins, which typically have higher premiums. This is because we can offer a variety of coins from The Royal Mint's popular bullion series, giving you more value for your money while still benefiting from CGT exemption.

Below is a brief selection of our our choice coins and bars to give you an idea of the types of products available and what you can expect when choosing to invest in them.
